Surin Beach - Phuket
Surin Beach stretches for almost a kilometer. The beach offers a wide stretch of fine, golden sand.
It is a good bathing beach, however it does slope quite steeply into the sea, making it a little hazardous for children or non-swimmers. There are a few rocks in the sea that just break the surface. They can be fun for diving off , however, they can also be sharp if you slip-so be careful on these rocks.
There is some snorkeling around both headlands, although, nothing spectacular.
There are sun loungers spread along the beach: the cost is 100 baht each. Generally, there is not much water sport activity, however the jet-ski renters occasionally come round to work the beach.
Casuarina trees line the beach. Under them are some beachside restaurants and souvenir shops. Set further back is a road parallel to the beach that has a few guesthouses, hotels and restaurants.
During the rainy season, this beach has especially treacherous undercurrents.
